When faced with the historic building renovation for their headquarters in the heart of Jackson Square in San Francisco, Pattern Energy selected Stok to manage the design and construction teams as they consolidated two offices into 50,000 SF of high performance commercial office space.

The joint venture group between Golub & Company and The John Buck Company is constructing a new commercial office building with ground-floor retail adjacent to the Transbay Terminal in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Stok was brought on to help guide the project through sustainable design aspects, with LEED Gold certification as the end goal.

The tallest building allowed in San Francisco by zoning, Salesforce Tower is a signature on the city’s skyline with a number of healthy building strategies woven into its design. The tower is the first pre-certified LEED Platinum Core & Shell project in San Francisco, and the highest-rated LEED certified building in the world.

A 14-building, 1.5M square foot development that spans a 42-acre Silicon Valley campus neighborhood, Pathline Park is a collaborative effort of Stok bringing the Irvine Company’s blend of indoor-outdoor, work-play, creativity-industry vision to life. As most of the five phases are currently under construction, Stok is now guiding them all through LEED Group Certification, using close communication with the USGBC to ensure a seamless yet complex certification process.

At the time of registration, this ambitious development of one city block—consisting of three towers (office, hotel, and multifamily residential) above ground level retail, an activated plaza, and a ballpark and entertainment venue—was one of only nine projects in the world pursuing WELL Community certification, and one of the early participants in the WELL Multifamily Pilot for its residential tower. Stok is leading the dual WELL certification and providing commissioning services.

The Middle Earth Campus Expansion at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is a 215,000 SF amenity-rich high-density housing development in the academic core of campus. Designed to help UCI achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2025, the project targeted LEED Platinum certification from the outset and 20% more efficient performance than the state’s aggressive Title 24 energy code.

The Ocean Discovery Institute Living Lab is a state-of-the-art science education facility engaging underserved youth, families, and community members in tuition-free hands-on science programs. Early in the concept stages of planning their new ground-up facility, the Ocean Discovery Institute (ODI) set an aggressive goal of Zero Net Energy. Anything less was inconsistent with their mission and core value of environmental stewardship.
